The limited edition ONE PIECE FAN LETTER Blu-ray and DVD, featuring an exclusive illustration by Megumi Ishitani and Keisuke Mori, will be released on July 30 in Japan. The newly revealed illustration is a hand-drawn collaboration between the director and character designer/animation director, both of whom had key roles in the episode’s production.
This home video release follows the recent broadcast of the ONE PIECE FAN LETTER anime special, which premiered on October 20, 2024. Directed by Megumi Ishitani, with Keisuke Mori overseeing character design and animation, the episode was based on Straw Hat Stories, a 2017 novel by Tomohito Ohsaki. The script was written by Momoka Toyoda.
Crunchyroll is streaming the episode, describing the story:
Two years after the Paramount War, the Straw Hats are about to reunite on the Sabaody Archipelago. At the same time, a girl who is head over heels for Nami is trying to hand a fan letter to her before the group leaves the island.
A special DigiPak illustration was also released:
Tomohito Ohsaki wrote the Straw Hat Stories novel in 2017, and it focuses on normal people who are “not pursuing the One Piece.” It features 9 short stories about each of the Straw Hat Pirates, as well as the crew’s reunion the perspective of those ‘normal’ people.
