The upcoming Mono anime has announced Hikaru Tono as the voice of Sakurako Shikishima. Alongside this casting reveal, a new character visual and trailer for Sakurako have been released and the website describes her as a second-year student and a member of the “Cinephoto” club. Before, she served as the president of the Film Studies Club and though she may appear expressionless and difficult to read at first glance, she is surprisingly lively and energetic once you get to know her.
Set to premiere in 2025, the series had previously revealed Haruna Mikawa as the voice of Satsuki Amamiya and Aoi Koga as An Kiriyama.
Aniplex is producing the anime with studio Soigne animating and Ryota Aikei’s (Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 assistant director) as director. Yoko Yonaiyama (A Sign of Affection) is writing the script and Takuya Miyahara is designing the characters.
The manga was first serialized in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Miracle! magazine in May 2017. After the final issue of the said magazine was released, the series was transferred to the Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine in December of the same year.
Yen Press is publishing the manga in English and the first volume is slated to release on November 19 this year. They describe the first volume as:
The Photography Club is in danger of shutting down?! And the Cinema Club too?! Fret not, for they shall merge and become…Cinephoto Club! Now, club members Satsuki, An, and Sakurako are asked to be the main characters for manga artist Haruno’s latest work that’s centered around action cameras. The girls head out to capture the lovely sights of Japan, exploring gadgets around them, and of course, chomp on the local delicacies along the way!
