Monogatari and Steins;Gate announced a collaboration on the MAGES channel earlier today. The Monogatari anime adaptation by Shaft premiered in 2009, while Nitroplus and MAGES’ (then known as 5pb.) Steins;Gate visual novel also debuted in the same year. The collaboration will feature cafe events at Tokyo Tower and Animax Cafe+ in October and a Sofmap x Animega pop-up shop in November.
Monogatari is a light novel series written by Nisi Oisin and illustrated by Vofan. The series started serialization in 2006 and although volumes cover different arcs, the titles of each one end with -monogatari. Bakemonogatari is a manga adaptation of the light novel, illustrated by Oh! Great. It has been serialized in the Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2018. The anime is currently adapting Off Season and Monster Season novels.
Steins;Gate is the second in the Science Adventure visual novel series. Originally released in 2009, the visual novel got a sequel Steins;Gate 0 in 2015 and multiple spin-offs. Additional sequel is in the works. The visual novel also got a manga adaptation by Yomi Sarachi serialized in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Alive from 2009 to 2013. WHITE FOX produced the anime adaptation that aired in 2011 and the Steins;Gate 0 anime sequel that followed in 2018.
