More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers Anime Gets Key Visual, October Release

The upcoming anime adaptation of More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers has released a new key visual, as well as the main cast. The anime will be animated by Studio Mother and will air in October this year.

The main cast includes Saori Oonishi as Akari Watanabe, Seichiro Yamashita as Jiro Yakuin, Saki Miyashita as Shiori Sakurazaka, and Toshiki Masuda as Minami Tenjin.

Takao Koto serves as the chief director, and Junichi Yamamoto directs the series. Naruhisa Arakawa is in charge of the series’ composition, Chizuru Kobayashi is the character designer, Ichiro Chaen is handling the editing, and Naoko Akuzawa is the art director. The theme songs have been also announced, with “True Fool Love” by Liyuu as the opening theme and “Stuck on You” by Nowlu as the ending theme.

More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers is based on the manga series of the same name by Yuki Kanamaru. It has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace magazine since March 2018. The anime series was first announced in November 2021.

The manga follows the story of Jiro Yakuin who has a crush on Shiori Sakurazaka, his childhood friend. However, things change up when the school they are attending has imposed a couples training program, where each student will be paired up randomly to allow them to practice social skills. Because of this, Jiro gets teamed up with a gyaru girl named Akari Watanabe.
