Music composer Hidekazu Tanaka was sentenced to 18 months in prison with a three-year suspended sentence for indecent acts under the Japanese criminal code. Tanaka was arrested in October of last year for stalking a 15-year-old teenager, talking to her in “obscene language,” and attempting to assault her in an alley. During a verdict reading, the court stated that the victim couldn’t attend school for a week. Tanaka offered her money while asking if she would “do it.”
In addition to this, the 35-year-old composer was also charged with taking up-skirt photos of at least 11 women during a two-month period in 2022, as well as exposing himself in public transport. A suspended sentence means that if Tanaka manages to not commit any offenses in the next three years he will not have to serve the sentence. He admitted to the charges and apologized for his behavior, stating that he started voyeurism in his 20s and used it as a tool to relieve stress.
Hidekazu Tanaka is a composer, known for anime and gaming soundtracks. He worked on titles such as The Idolmaster franchise.
