My Hero Academia: You’re Next hit North American theaters with a special premiere ahead of the official screenings earlier this week. On October 6th, the My Hero Academia series held a premiere event hosted by Toho International. The event took place at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles, California where fans can show their love of the series and watch the newest movie before its release date.
Many guests were invited to watch the movie premiere alongside fans. Among them are Japanese voice actors, Daiki Yamashita, the voice of Izuku “Deku” Midoriya, and Kenta Miyake, the voice of All Might/Dark Might, who attended the event as special guests. Alongside Yamashita and Miyake are English voice actors Kristen McGuire, Clifford Chapin, Zeno Robinson, Anairis, Mauricio Ortiz-Segura, and Kayli Mills. The guests gave a special “Plus Ultra” shout-out for the movie.
Before the premiere, Yamashita and Miyake shared their thoughts about the special premiere of You’re Next. They both expressed their happiness that the film is premiering in North American theaters and are excited to watch it with their fans.
My Hero Academia is a manga series created by Kohei Hirokoshi. It was serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump from 2014 to 2024. The series has inspired an anime adaptation produced by Studio Bones and four anime films, including You’re Next. The sixth season of the TV anime ended yesterday with an announcement for the final one, set to premiere next year.
The My Hero Academia: You’re Next movie premiered in Japan this August. It began screening in the US and Canada on October 11 with both English subtitles and English dub.
