TV Tokyo released its Q&A for its latest earnings briefing (fiscal year ending 2026) held on May 19, where it was revealed that Naruto will be receiving new video and game projects for the anime’s 25th anniversary in 2027. The series debuted in October 2002.
“We see the 25th anniversary [Naruto‘s] as the beginning of a new stage, and we have several projects planned to capture that. New projects, including videos and games developed with new partners, are planned for 2027 and beyond.“

Among the new Naruto video projects teased in this Q&A may be the anniversary specials initially scheduled for release in 2023. They were delayed indefinitely to improve the quality. The Q&A also referenced the expected impact of the 1.5-hectare Naruto theme park set to open in 2026.
Meanwhile, in TV Tokyo’s financial results briefing, managing director Koichi Komaru shared that Naruto/Boruto royalty revenues saw a significant increase following overseas online game releases and merch.

As in previous years, TV Tokyo CEO/President Hiroshi Yoshitsugu also shared that “Black Clover, BLEACH, and Gintama are in the pipeline as content that will drive global expansion following Naruto.“
The Naruto anime and game series are based on Masashi Kishimoto’s manga series, published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 1999 to 2014. The manga series has over 250 million copies in circulation globally. A live-action film is also in development with scripts and direction by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings).
