Natsume's Book of Friends Season 7 Reveals Short New Trailer

Natsume’s Book of Friends Season 7 anime has revealed a short new trailer ahead of its October 7 premiere. Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime outside Japan. You can watch the video on the official YouTube channel, or on their X (formerly Twitter) account below.

The anime previously revealed the main trailer and visual. Hinata Kashiwagi performs the opening theme “Alca,” while Toshiki Kondo performs the ending “Komari Warai.” Studio Shuka is animating, with Takahiro Omori (season 1 to season 4) returning as the chief director. The full staff consists of:

Natsume’s Book of Friends is a Japanese manga series by Yuki Midorikawa. It was serialized by Hakusensha’s LaLa DX from June 2003 to April 2008 before moving to LaLa in 2007. It has released 31 volumes as of September 5, 2024. Viz Media licensed the manga in English, while Crunchyroll describes the story:
Natsume Takashi has the ability to see spirits, which he has long kept secret. However, once he inherits a strange book that belonged to his deceased grandmother, Reiko, he discovers the reason why spirits surround him.

The anime adaptation has had six TV anime seasons so far, with the last one airing back in 2017. Directors for the anime include Takahiro Omori (from season 1 to season 4) and Kotomi Deai (season 5 to season 6). Studios Brain’s Base (season 1 to season 4) and Shuka (season 5 to season 6) have worked on the animation. The franchise also has 2 movies and several OVAs.
