Netflix has officially confirmed that The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity will begin streaming internationally starting July 13, 2025 in several regions, while only Netflix Japan has confirmed a July 5 premiere so far. The latest visual and trailer were revealed last week.
This is similar to the schedule of the recent Blue Box and SAKAMOTO DAYS, both of which were releasing on Netflix in Japan a week ahead of the global release.
Via Netflix Philippines on Facebook, the company released the new trailer for the anime with the following caption:
They come from different worlds, but Rintaro and Kaoruko will beat the odds and stick together come what may. The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity arrives on Netflix July 13.
The official trailer’s description has only ‘2025’ as the arrival to the streaming platform.
Studio CloverWorks is in charge of the animation. The studio is also working on My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 and Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus, which are both set to premiere on July 5 in Japan as well.
Saka Mikami writes and draws the The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity (Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku) manga series, which began serialization on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket manga website and app in October 2021. It has released 16 volumes as of this April, with Kodansha also publishing it in English.
The story follows Rintaro, a second-year student at Chidori High (a school for boys with the worst grades) who helps at his family’s patisserie. One day, he meets Kaoruko, a kind girl he quickly bonds with. But things get complicated when Rintaro learns that Kaoruko attends Kikyo Girls’ High, a prestigious school for wealthy families. As their friendship grows, they have to navigate the challenges and schemes from their classmates to stay together.
