Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hogen Sugite Tsurasugiru Anime Reveals Trailer, Staff and Cast Information

The upcoming anime Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hogen Sugite Tsurasugiru (The Girl I Fell For in Okinawa Speaks in Difficult Dialect) revealed a teaser visual and video on Monday along with the staff and cast information. The main cast consists of Takeo Otsuka (Aqua in Oshi no Ko) as Teruaki Nakamura, Akari Kito (Tsukasa Yuzaki in Tonikawa: Fly Me to the Moon) as Hina Kyan, and Ai Fairouz (Jolyne Cujoh in Jojo’s Bizzare Adventures Part 6: Stone Ocean) as Kana Higa. The release date is yet to be announced.

Studio Millepensee (Wake Up, Girls! New Chapter) is animating the series with Shin Itagaki (I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World) acting as the chief director of the anime and Shingo Tanabe (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean episode 14 director) as director. Itagaki and Tanabe are also in charge of supervising the scripts. Tomohiro Yoshida (Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story episodes 9 and 12 animation director) is the character designer while Tomohisa Ishikawa (Super Cub), Yoshimi Katayama, and Ayano Kinjo are composing the music.

The anime adaptation is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Egumi Sora. The manga began serialization on Shinchosha’s Kurage Bunch website in January 2020 and it currently has 8 volumes in circulation. The romantic comedy story is about Teruaki Nakamura, who transferred from Tokyo to Okinawa. There, he finds a girl that he likes named Hina Kyan. But Teruaki is having a hard time understanding Hina’s Okinawan dialect. Kana Higa, who is Hina’s friend, helps Teruaki by translating the dialect for him. But little does he know, that Kana has a secret crush on him.
