The previously announced Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru (Stupid Angel Dances With the Devil) anime revealed three additional cast members. Shuichiro Umeda, Shunichi Toki, and Nao Toyama are joining the series as Yuya Tanigawa, Kensaku Hirota, and Yuka Tanahashi respectively. The character designs and comments of the cast were also released. The series is slated to premiere in 2024.
Studio Children’s Playground Entertainment (Hatena Illusion, co-production on The Fruit of Evolution) is animating the series with Itsuro Kawasaki (Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! director) acting as both director and scriptwriter. Takuro Iga (WATATEN!: An Angel Flew Down to Me) is composing the music and Yuko Yahiro (Aharen-san wa Hakarenai) is designing the characters. The main duo Lily Amane and Masatora Akutsu are voiced by Ayane Sakura and Yuma Uchida respectively.
The Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru (Stupid Angel Dances With the Devil) anime is based on the manga written and illustrated by Sawayoshi Azuma. It has been serialized in ASCII Media Works’ seinen manga magazine Dengeki Maoh since June 2016 and currently has 15 volumes in circulation.
The story is about Masatora Akutsu, a demon who came to the human world in search of “idols” for the corrupt demons. He meets Lily Amane, a potential idol, and invites her to join him. However, Lily turns out to be an angel, the natural enemy of the demons, and while Akutsu tries to corrupt Lily, she decides to rehabilitate Akutsu for her own selfish desires.
