Voice actress RIe Kugimiya is joining the cast of the previously announced Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru (Stupid Angel Dances With the Devil) anime as Liz. The series is slated to premiere in 2024.
Some of Rie Kugimiya’s popular roles include Alphonse Elric in the Fullmetal Alchemist series, Kagura in Gintama, Happy in Fairy Tail and Edens Zero, Taiga Aisaka in Toradora!, Karin Kurosaki and Nemu Kurotsuchi in Bleach, Nora in Noragami, among others.
Previously announced cast members include:
- Ayane Sakura as Lily Amane
- Yuma Uchida as Masatora Akutsu
- Shuichiro Umeda as Yuya Tanigawa
- Shunichi Toki as Kensaku Hirota
- Nao Toyama as Yuka Tanahashi
Studio Children’s Playground Entertainment is animating the series with Itsuro Kawasaki acting as both director and scriptwriter. Takuro Iga is composing the music and Yuko Yahiro is designing the characters.
The Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru (Stupid Angel Dances With the Devil) anime is based on the manga written and illustrated by Sawayoshi Azuma. It has been serialized in ASCII Media Works’ seinen manga magazine Dengeki Maoh since June 2016 and currently has 15 volumes in circulation.
The story is about Masatora Akutsu, a demon who came to the human world in search of “idols” for the corrupt demons. He meets Lily Amane, a potential idol, and invites her to join him. However, Lily turns out to be an angel, the natural enemy of the demons, and while Akutsu tries to corrupt Lily, she decides to rehabilitate Akutsu for her own selfish desires.
