Historie (stylized as HISTORIĒ) is officially getting a TV anime adaptation by LIDEN FILMS, as announced on January 1 with a teaser visual and trailer. The manga by Hitoshi Iwaaki has been serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine since January 2003, releasing a total of 12 volumes as of June 2024.
Historie received the Grand Prize at the 14th Japan Media Arts Festival in 2010, the 16th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2012, as well as the 49th Kodansha Manga Award in the general category in 2025. Some of LIDEN FILMS’ other upcoming works include The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch and Tokyo Revengers: War of the Three Titans Arc.

Iwaaki previously received the Kodansha Manga Award for Parasyte in 1993. The popular manga was serialized from 1989 to 1994 and ran for a total of 10 volumes. Studio MADHOUSE animated the 24-episode anime adaptation in 2014-2015.
