Phantom Busters Anime Adaptation Announced for 2027

Neoshoco’s Phantom Busters manga is officially getting a TV anime adaptation in 2027, as announced by the official X account on September 24. The announcement was previously teased with a graphic and the scheduled time, which was set for 18:00 JST. Neoshoco commented:
“The anime adaptation is happening, yay!

I think Phantom Busters is the kind of series whose fun will stand out even more when animated, so as the author, I’m truly happy that it has become a reality!

Phantom Busters is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Neoshoco. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Jump Square since August 2023, while VIZ Media began publishing the English version in October 2025. The manga has surpassed 1.4 million copies in circulation, including digital editions. Volume 8 is scheduled for release in Japan on October 2.

VIZ describes the story:
In search of a fourth member for the club, Mogari, Eugene, and new recruit Kaoru Kanzaki set their sights on Kotaro Tamon, a classmate who seems to be able to talk to ghosts. Unfortunately, Kotaro’s got some major problems communicating with living humans! Will Kotaro be able to overcome his anxiety and join the Phantom Busters?
