The upcoming Play It Cool Guys anime has released a character trailer and visual for Takayuki Mima, one of the main characters of the series. Character trailers for Shun Futami and Hayate Ichikura have been previously released.
Takayuki Mima is being voiced by Yuichiro Umehara. Other cast members include Koki Uchiyama as Shun Futami, Chiaki Kobayashi as Hayate Ichikura, and Shoya Chiba as Soma Shiki.
The Play It Cool, Guys anime was first announced in April this year and it will premiere in October. Studio Pierrot is animating the series, and Kon Chiaki directing it. Eri Taguchi is doing character designs, while Makoto Uezu is in charge of series composition, and Masato Nakayama is composing the music.
Play It Cool, Guys is based on a web manga series written and illustrated by Kokone Nata. It started off as illustrations by the author in May 2018 before being serialized on Pixiv as a web manga in February 2019. Aside from being serialized under the Pixiv Comic service, it has been also released under Square Enix’s Gangan Comics Pixiv.
Yen Press has licensed the manga in English, describing the plot as:
Enter: a group of cool guys who seem like they’ve got that unapproachable swag. But look closer and you’ll find a bunch of dorks who’ve gotten the act down pat. So sit back, grab some popcorn, and enjoy watching these clumsy dudes try to look cool all day, every day.
