Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table Reveals Visual, Trailer, Additional Cast

The upcoming Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table revealed a new visual and trailer featuring additional cast members. Additionally, LIN from MADKID will perform the opening theme song “¬Ersterbend” and the anime will premiere on January 7 with a 60-minute episode.

Chiyuki Miura stars as Yuuki, and the additional cast includes:

• Rena Motomura as Aoi
• Inori Minase as Kinko
• Haruka Sato as Kokuto
• Mutsumi Tamura as Beniya
• Rina Kawaguchi as Momono

Studio DEEN is animating the series with Souta Ueno as director. Rintarou Ikeda is in charge of the series composition. Eri Osada is handling the character designs and Noriyoshi Konuma is the sound director. A teaser was previously shown.

The anime is based on the light novel series of the same title, written by Yushi Ukai with illustrations by Nekometaru. It has been serialized in Media Factory’s MF Bunko J imprint since November 2022. There is also a manga adaptation by Banzai Kotobuki Daienkai. Yen Press licensed the novel in English and they describe the story as follows:
Yuki wakes up to find herself in an unfamiliar manor, wearing a maid uniform and lying on a luxurious bed. Soon, she discovers five more girls, all dressed the same as her. This is the Ghost House, and the only way they can survive is to make it through the traps that lie in wait-deadly games full of blowguns, buzz saws, locked rooms, and weapons. It’s a hopeless, terrifying situation for everyone there…well, everyone except Yuki. After all, this is her career at seventeen. Do you think that’s odd? She would agree. But that’s how some people are-they earn their living playing death games.
