At long last, the psychic battle Shonen PSYREN is getting an anime adaptation, announced today by REMOW Co.,LTD. Written by Toshiaki Iwashiro, the PSYREN manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2008 to 2010. The series is absolutely beloved by fans and has been nominated three times for the magazine’s “MANGA WE WANT TO SEE ANIMATED” ranking. In addition to that, in the 15 years since the manga’s conclusion, PSYREN has been absolutely omnipresent in forums discussing manga that deserve an anime or anime adaptations that definitely should happen. I think I speak for a lot of fans when I say that this particular anime adaptation is a heavily awaited one.
The main staff, cast, and an English-subtitled trailer have also been revealed. Studio SATELIGHT, known for its work on the Aquarion, Macross, and Log Horizon series, is in charge of animation production. The anime is set to air in 2026 with global streaming details to be announced at a later date. You can check out the trailer for the PSYREN anime below:

Katsumi Ono, known for his work on the Symphogear series and two series in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, is directing the project. Music will be composed by Takashi Ohmama (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury), Tatsuhiko Saiki (I Parry Everything), and Shu Kanematsu (My Next Life as a Villainess).
Both of the announced PSYREN voice actors as well as mangaka Toshiaki Iwashiro left comments regarding the announcement:
Rikuya Yasuda:
I’m Rikuya Yasuda, and I’ll be voicing Ageha Yoshina. I received the news that I passed the audition while I was at home—and I’m glad I was in a place where I could yell out loud, because I really did! Ever since that moment, the excitement of being part of the PSYREN TV anime hasn’t left me, and I’m dying to share it with all of you. Now, almost 15 years after the manga concluded, PSYREN is heating up once again. I’ll be charging full speed ahead alongside Ageha into this wild, psychic world!!
Mayuko Kazama:
I’m Mayuko Kazama, and I’ll be playing the role of Sakurako Amamiya. Amamiya is known for her cool and composed demeanor—so much so that she’s earned the nickname “Ice Queen.” But beneath that calm exterior lies a whirlwind of emotions. During recording, I gave my all to explore her inner world and express her hidden layers as vividly as possible. Please look forward to the broadcast!
Toshiaki Iwashiro:
It’s finally happening—PSYREN is getting an anime! I’m overjoyed that I can finally share this news with my parents and family, something I wasn’t able to do about 15 years ago.
Several young editors and anime production staff have come up to me with a fiery gleam in their
eyes, telling me they loved PSYREN when they were teenagers. Knowing that those same people, now grown, are involved in bringing this anime to life fills me with nothing but gratitude and emotion. I truly hope the excitement and thrill of PSYREN reaches everyone! I also had the opportunity to be
involved in the script, and like all of you, I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing Ageha and the rest of the cast come to life—moving and speaking on screen.
The series is described as follows:
One day, high schooler Ageha Yoshina picks up a mysterious “red phone card” left behind in a public telephone booth. A few days later, his childhood friend and classmate, Sakurako Amamiya—who possessed the same card—suddenly vanishes without a trace. In search of her, Ageha finds himself drawn into the rumors surrounding a nationwide string of mysterious disappearances, said to be the work of a secret organization known only as “Psyren.” When he accesses the group, a deadly game begins—one that will change his fate forever.
Future information on the series can be found on the official website (English) and official X (Japanese).
