RADWIMPS Concert in the Philippines Announced for May 1

Japanese rock bank RADWIMPS is coming to the Philippines on May 1 as part of their RADWIMPS WORLD TOUR 2024 concert in Asia. This marks the first time the popular band will be performing in the country.

The full lineup of where the RADWIMPS WORLD TOUR 2024 in Asia will perform includes:

  • April 6-7: Tokyo, Japan/YOYOGI National Stadium 1st Gymnasium
  • April 13-14: Yokohama, Japan/PIA ARENA MM
  • May 1: Manila, Philippines/Smart Araneta Coliseum
  • May 7: Hong Kong/AsiaWorld-Expo Hall 10
  • May 11: Singapore/Singapore Expo
  • May 15: Taipei, Taiwan/Taipei Music Center
  • May 23: Bangkok, Thailand/UOB LIVE
  • May 25: Seoul, South Korea/SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium

RADWIMPS previously made an Asian tour in 2023 in the cities of Seoul, Taipei, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Shanghai. The band also performed in Latin America this year in Mexico City, Monterrey, Sao Paulo, and Santiago.

The band was first formed in 2001, with Yojiro Noda, Akira Kuwahara (currently on indefinite hiatus), Yusuke Takeda, and Satoshi Yamaguchi. Past members include Yusuke Saiki, Kei Aso, and Akio Shibafuji. They debuted as a musical act in 2003 through the independent label Newtraxx, releasing the albums Radwimps (2003) and Radwimps 2: Hatten Tojo (2005). After signing with major label Toshiba EMI, they released their album Radwimps 3: Mujinto ni Motte Ikiwasureta Ichimai in 2006. At the moment, the band is signed with EMI. They have 32 singles, 2 EPs, and 13 studio albums.

RADWIMPS gained attention from the anime community for their work on Makoto Shinkai’s 2016 anime film Your Name while releasing a soundtrack album of the same name. They then worked with Shinkai to provide the music for the 2019 anime film Weathering With You and recently, the 2022 film Suzume.
