Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus anime revealed a new visual for the Nightingale Arc, which began with Episode 4 on July 26. Studio CloverWorks is handling the animation for the TV anime, which is streaming on Crunchyroll.
The visual features Ikumi Akagi, who is the focus of the eleventh novel of the series. It’s titled Rascal Does Not Dream of a Nightingale, while the tagline for the visual is: “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been good at hide-and-seek, haven’t I?”
The previous arc was the Lost Singer arc, adapting the 10th novel Rascal Does Not Dream of a Lost Singer. After this arc, the remaining novels that remain to be adapted will be:
- Rascal Does Not Dream of His Student
- Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus
- Rascal Does Not Dream of Girlfriends
- Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend (final)
The Rascal Does Not Dream light novel series was written by Hajime Kamoshida, while Keji Mizoguchi drew the illustrations for it. ASCII Media Works began publishing it under their Dengeki Bunko imprint in April 2014, releasing a total of 15 volumes. The final volume was released on October 10, 2024, marking the end of the novel after 10 years of serialization.
The entire anime adaptation so far has been animated by CloverWorks. It includes the Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai TV anime (covering volumes 1-5), as well as three sequel movies. They are Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl (volumes 6-7), Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out (Volume 8), and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid (Volume 9).
