Revenger, an original anime by Nitroplus and Shochiku, has released a fourth trailer featuring the opening song “Down Timer” by Kairiki Bear. You can check out the full trailer below:
Ajia-do is animating the Revenger anime, which will begin broadcasting on January 5, 2023. The anime project was first announced in late September 2022. Gen Urobuchi is responsible for the original concept of the anime, with Masaya Fujimori as the director and Shinpei Matsuo as the assistant director. Chief animation directors include Emiko Endo, Yuuji Hosogoe, and Yuuki Nishioka; while action animation directors include Hiroyuki Horiuchi and Yuuki Miyamoto.

- Yuichiro Umehara as Yuuen Usui
- Akio Ootsuka as Kano Gerald
- Takehito Koyasu as Jinkuro Isarizawa

Revenger is the first original work by Urobochi in ten years, following the second season of Fate/Zero in 2012. He is known for his work in Puella Magi Madoka Magica (2011) as the original creator and writer, Psycho-Pass (2012), Aldnoah.Zero (2014), and more recently (Obsolete). He also worked on the animation concept of RWBY: Queendom (2022) and recently on the film Bubble (2022).
Crunchyroll will be streaming the Revenger anime, describing it as follows:
As master assassin Usui Yuen looks into a series of assassinations made on the grand samurai clan, the Satsuma, he encounters Kurima Raizo, member and survivor of one of the attacks. Together, they discover the true nature of these murders is bigger than over stolen resources. As they get closer to the truth, will they come out alive to exact revenge?
