The Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective anime has revealed nine additional cast members following the premiere of its first episode. Diomedea is animating the series under the direction of Shota Ibata.
The additional cast members include:
- Kikuko Inoue as Aimee Emmerich
- Kazuhiro Yamaji as John Grizzly
- Hiroki Tōchi as Vice Principal
- Kenjiro Tsuda as Dr. Hilsh
- Ryusei Nakao as Disguise Instructor
- Megumi Han as Fin Fennec
- Kenji Nomura as Schedule Instructor
- Ai Kakuma as Older Sister
- Manaka Iwami as Younger Sister
Previously announced cast members include Yohei Azakami as Ron Kamonohashi, Junya Enoki as Totomaru “Toto” Ishiki, Yoko Hikasa as Amamiya, Taku Yashiro as Spitz Feier, Jun Fukuyama as Omito Kawasemi, and Nao Toyama as Mofu Uzaki.
Wataru Watari is doing the anime’s series composition. Masakazu Ishikawa is doing the character designs. Yo Tsuji is composing the music and KADOKAWA is credited for music production. The theme songs include “Ikenai Fool Logic” by Unison Square Garden as the opening theme song, and “Lipsync” by Hockrockb as the ending theme song.
The anime is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Akira Amano. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ online magazine since October 2020. Shueisha’s MangaPlus app is publishing it in English. The plot is described as:

Crunchyroll is streaming the anime under the title Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions, describing the synopsis as:
Ron Kamonohashi was once regarded as a genius at the top detective training academy. But after a fatal mistake, he was expelled and forbidden to become a detective. Years later, police officer Totomaru Isshiki knocks on Ron’s door seeking help on a serial murder case. He finds Ron, now a messy-haired recluse, who agrees. Together, this mismatched detective team begins solving their first mystery!
