Sasaki and Miyano is getting a bonus OAD episode, which revealed a special “digest” promotional video. The 13th episode of the anime will be bundled with the special edition of the 9th volume of the manga, which is set to publish on July 29. Studio DEEN animated the TV anime, but it is not clear if they will be working on the extra episode as well.
The episode is titled “A little story before I realized I was in love” and is set in November. Miyano and his friends are taking over the work of the public morals committee when a student comes to them and tells them about a lost key chain. Hanazawa has an idea to form the “First Lost Property Detective Group” and the group sets out to look for the lost item… The bonus episode was announced after the TV anime finished earlier and at the time it was teased as a “new anime project”.
Sasaki and Miyano anime was directed by Shinji Ishihira. Yoshiko Nakamura was in charge of series composition, while Maki Fuji designed the characters. Kana Shibue composed the music.
The main cast included:
- Soma Saito as Yoshikazu Miyano
- Yusuke Shirai as Shumei Sasaki
- Yuma Uchida as Masato Hanazawa
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Taiga Hirano
- Ryohei Arai as Tasuku Kuresawa

The anime is based on a manga by Sho Harusono. The manga has been serialized on pixiv Comic platform. Media Factory publishes it in volume format. Yen Press is publishing the manga in English and describes the plot as:
It all started like a typical old-school boys’ love plotline—bad-boy senior meets adorably awkward underclassman, one of them falls in love, and so on and so forth. But although Miyano is a self-proclaimed boys’ love expert, he hasn’t quite realized…he’s in one himself. Which means it’s up to Sasaki to make sure their story has a happily ever after…!
A spin-off manga titled Hirano to Kagiura (Hirano and Kagiura) by the same author is currently ongoing in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Gene magazine.
