Korean media outlet My Daily (a subsidiary of Lotte Tour) reports that 9ato Entertainment, the agency of the popular Korean actress Han So-hee, confirmed that “Solo Leveling is one of the works under review” in a simple statement provided to My Daily. This follows reports originating from South Korea’s Sports Kyunghyang, which said that Han had been cast in the series and was expected to play Cha Hae-in.
The Solo Leveling live-action, confirmed to stream on Netflix at an unconfirmed date, will be produced by Kakao Entertainment and Sanai Pictures. Byeon Woo-seok stars at the lead protagonist Sung Jinwoo. Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo will co-direct the series.
Meanwhile, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Season 2 (webtoon) will debut soon, as teased by publisher D&C Media in July. The Ragnarok web novel ended the same month with Chapter 375. The live-action follows fellow Solo Leveling adaptations like the webtoon, anime series, and games, such as the upcoming Solo Leveling: KARMA and Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE, recently slated for a November 17 release.
Solo Leveling originated as a web novel by author Chu-gong, and is published by D&C Media. Tapas hosts Solo Leveling in English, describing it:
There exist portals to another world. These “Gates” have become as commonplace as air and so too have the hunters that make a living slaying the creatures that reside within them. Among these hunters, Sung Jinwoo is an E-rank, the absolute weakest of the weak. But that won’t stop him from trying to grow stronger to provide for his loved ones.
