Korean news outlet Electronic Times News (ET News) reports that Solo Leveling will receive a ‘large-scale‘ musical on ice, dubbed Solo Leveling on ICE, with 10 shows planned from December 24 to 31, 2025, at Mokdong Ice Rink in Seoul, Korea (though it is currently listed for 2026 on its landing page). The show was teased as offering a combination of ‘intense battle scenes of the hunter world, and the emotional lines between the characters will be vividly unfolded on ice,’ with real-time projection technology used to immerse fans.

Live Arena plans and produces Solo Leveling on ICE. The entertainment streaming service BIGC will co-host the ice musical. Auditions are currently underway with applications accepted until July 20. ET News reports that current idols, musical actors, circus action performers, and former and active national figure skating team members will make up the cast. More than 20 characters will appear on stage.
It’s possible that Solo Leveling on ICE will be available internationally in some capacity, with a spokesperson for Live Arena sharing, “This ice performance musical is a new experiment and challenge for K-content based on the strong IP of Solo Leveling. We will grow it into a model that introduces the Korean performance genre to the global stage, going beyond a simple performance.“
Live Arena added, “While animation or dramatization have been the typical paths for IP expansion, this performance is a new attempt to break down genre boundaries through the fresh space of ‘ice skating.’ Through the performance, we will expand our contact points with not only webtoon fans but also existing performing arts fans.”
Entertainment companies continue to implement media mix strategies, with Solo Leveling among the most successful examples. First released in 2016, the web novel has since spawned a successful webtoon and sequel (which recently passed 100 million views on KakaoPage), a game with over 60 million downloads with over $70m in generated revenue just a month after its May 2024 launch, and the popular Solo Leveling anime series, which Sony announced was Crunchyroll’s most viewed anime of all time this month.
