Kodansha USA announced on Monday that it will host the legendary author and illustrator Atsushi Ohkubo at its Kodansha House Pop-Up event at 210 Lafayette St, SoHo, New York City. The event will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. EDT starting on October 4th and running through October 19th.
Atsushi Ohkubo is well known as the mangaka behind the incredible series Soul Eater and Fire Force, both of which went on to receive anime adaptations with great popularity. While the full list of events that Kodansha House will host has not yet been announced, Kodansha has announced that there will be a book signing and Q&A with Atsushi Ohkubo on October 18th, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
Last year’s event featured a variety of exciting activations, including creator visits from manga creators Shuzo Oshimi (The Flowers of Evil), Tsubasa Yamaguchi (Blue Period), Makoto Yukimura (Vinland Saga), and Kamome Shirahama (Witch Hat Atelier). In addition to those visits and their accompanying events, there were also a variety of movie nights, exhibits, retro games, a manga library, anime and manga themed drinks, and plenty of opportunities to network and connect with fellow fans of anime and manga.
