Tatsuya Endo commented on the opportunity to draw the cover:
Congratulations on the 40th anniversary of Kiki’s Delivery Service!
While illustrating this cover, I reread the book for the first time since middle school and was deeply moved by the kindness and warmth packed into every page. It even brought tears to my eyes.
I’m truly honored to be part of such a wonderful and long-loved story.
A huge thank you to Eiko Kadono and Fukuinkan Shoten for this amazing opportunity!
Eiko Kadono also commented:
It has been 40 years since the first volume of Kiki’s Delivery Service was released in 1985.
I am incredibly grateful that so many people have loved this story for so long. Kiki—and of course, Jiji too—join me in expressing our deepest, deepest gratitude. Thank you!
