Suicide Squad ISEKAI Reveals King Shark Character Trailer

The Suicide Squad ISEKAI anime revealed a character trailer for King Shark ahead of the show’s June 27 premiere date on Max and Hulu. WIT STUDIO is animating, with Eri Osada as the director. Subaru Kimura voices King Shark, and you can watch his trailer below.

The first three episodes will premiere at the same time, while it will release weekly afterwards for a total of 10 episodes until August 15. The show will release on the same day in Korea via ANIPLUS and LAFTEL; in France via ADN; in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong via HBO GO. Previously, they announced a July 5 premiere for Japan.

Besides the director Eri Osada, the staff includes Naoto Hosoda as the character designer, Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara as screenwriters, Kenichiro Suehiro as the music director, and Akira Amano as original character designer. The opening song is “Another World” by Tomoyasu Hotei, while the ending song is “Go-Getters” by Mori Calliope.

The Suicide Squad ISEKAI anime is based on the popular DC Comics series that was modernized by John Ostrander. The comic book series has also been adapted into two live-action movies (2016 and 2021).

The official synopsis for the Suicide Squad ISEKAI anime:
Amanda Waller, the head of A.R.G.U.S., has assembled a group of notorious criminals for a mission: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark. These DC Super-Villains are sent into an otherworldly realm that’s connected to this world through a gate. It’s a world of swords and magic where orcs rampage and dragons rule the skies—an “ISEKAI!”

Harley Quinn and the others go berserk after arriving in the ISEKAI but are captured by the Kingdom’s soldiers and sent to prison. They only have 72 hours before the bombs implanted in their necks explode. The clock is ticking. After negotiations with Queen Aldora, their liberation is contingent upon the conquest of her enemies, the hostile Imperial army. The Squad members have no choice but to throw themselves head-first into the battle’s frontline.

If they run, they die. If they lose, they die. With their lives on the line, can Harley Quinn and the Suicide Squad survive in the ISEKAI? Brace yourselves for the pulse-pounding saga of the elite task force known as the “Suicide Squad” as they embark on a jaw-dropping adventure! Let the party begin!
