Summer Time Rendering revealed a preview for episode 16, following the highly praised last week’s episode. The anime still hasn’t had its official worldwide premiere, although it is available in certain regions outside of Japan. Disney+ is streaming it in Japan. The title of the upcoming episode is “Original” and it will air on Thursday, July 28.

Shinpei and his group survived the all-out attack by shadows, who were led by Shide.
Under such circumstances, Mio proposed to make her own shadow a member of the group. Through Ushio’s powers, they succeeded in bringing the shadow to their side. Tokiko’s story and Mio’s shadow lead the group to Hishigata Clinic, but they find the building empty. They head towards Hiruko’s cave but they find Sou and Tokiko’s parents at the entrance…
Summer Time Rendering is based on a suspense-mystery manga by Yasuki Tanaka. Shonen Jump+ online magazine serialized it from 2017 to 2021.
The manga is available on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform. The plot is described as:
Upon hearing of Ushio’s death, Shinpei returns to his hometown of Wakayama City on Hitogashima and reunites with his childhood friend’s family. The funeral goes smoothly, but under the surface something strange is brewing on the island. What mysteries await him on this secluded summer island?
