Soichiro Yamamoto, the author of Teasing Master Takagi-san, started playing Nintendo’s newly-released Splatoon 3 and tweeted on September 14 night his “art post” in which you can see the video game’s world.
Nintendo’s Splatoon 3 came out on September 9, 2022, and on September 10, Soichiro Yamamoto posted on Twitter that he had been thinking of buying the game. At a later date on September 14 night, the manga artist posted his art of Takagi-san, a character in his work Teasing Master Takagi-san, holding a weapon in the right hand with a V-sign in the left. It came with a brief caption, “Spla,” short for Splatoon.
The author added a few hours later that he was glad to have received comments that they have seen him in the Splatoon world since the tweet was posted.
Hours after the author’s September 14 tweet, Yuki Kaji, the voice actor of Nishikata in the anime adaptation, quote-tweeted the post, shouted the female character’s name, “Takagi-san meeeeeee!!!!” as the male character does out of frustration when he gets teased by Takagi-san in the series. In a follow-up tweet, he reveals that, when he happened to find “Yamamoto-sensei,” he was really surprised that he would get teased by Takagi-san in the Splatoon world as well.
