My Hero Academia: Vigilantes anime announced that Taku Yashiro has joined the voice cast as “The Scared Man,” the man who appeared at the end of Episode 12. The anime by BONES FILM premiered on April 7 and is set to run for a total of 13 episodes.

It was revealed that the scarred man was secretly operating behind the scenes in the “Trigger Incident,” rather than Hachisuka. You can see the character visual and the voice actor’s comment below.

“First of all, I’m truly happy to be part of Vigilantes. This series features many characters, each with different ways of life and views on justice. That leads to conflicts, but also meaningful encounters and empathy. As for the Scarred Man, he’s still a hard-to-read character. Who is he? What does he want? It was incredibly fun to try to figure that out while performing.”

Additionally, the performance scene of “Marukane Department Store Song REMIX” by FeatherHATS, featured in Episode 12, has been released on YouTube. The song is available on music streaming platforms starting today, along with “My Hero” (performed by Pop☆Step in the episode).

Kenichi Suzuki is directing the anime at BONES FILM. The main voice cast for the anime includes Yasuhiro Mamiya as Knuckleduster, Shuichiro Umeda as Koichi Haimawari, and Ikumi Hasegawa as Pop☆Step. The anime is streaming worldwide on Crunchyroll.

The story of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes manga takes place 5 years before the main story. It is based on Kohei Horikoshi’s work and was written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and drawn by Betten Court. VIZ describes the first volume:
Koichi Haimawari couldn’t make the cut to become an official hero, so he uses his modest Quirk to do good deeds in his spare time. Then one day a fateful encounter with some local thugs leads him to team up with two other unlikely heroes. None of them really know what they’re doing, but they’ve got the courage—or foolishness—to try. But they soon discover fighting evil takes more than just being brave…

As for the main anime, My Hero Academia revealed the first trailer for its eight and final season. It’s set to premiere in October 2025.
