Koyoharu Gotoge wrote and illustrated the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga series. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from February 2016 to May 2020, ending with a total of 23 published volumes.

The anime adaptation by ufotable began with the 26-episode Season 1, which aired from April to September 2019. Following its success, the sequel movie, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train followed in October 2020 and arguably began the entire anime movie boom.

The movie was then re-edited and shown as part of the 18-episode Season 2, which aired from October 2021 to February 2022. The 11-episode Season 3 aired from April to June 2023, while Season 4 aired from May to June 2024 and set the stage for the endgame.

In related news, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Chronicles 2 is scheduled for global release on August 5, 2025, and it will be available for PlayStation, Steam, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
