New Year, New Cosplay
This year, we saw a mix of both current and classic titles. Here are our photos:
In the end, Genshin Impact is still the title with the most cosplays. In case you missed it, the Genshin Mania PH was one of last year’s Cosplay Carnival highlights. Since then, they’ve made numerous group cosplays and activities together (which I also wrote about in Cosplay Mania 2022) and with their anniversary coming up, it’s a happy emotion for everyone involved.
I had the opportunity to ask the admins Jay and Yuri how their cosplay journey has been and they said, “It’s definitely been exciting to cosplay Genshin Impact and form different cosplay groups at various events. We’ve all had a lot of fun and it became a great avenue for us to meet new friends, have fun with others, and work with cosplayers and media producers whom we’ve really been excited to have with us. Through our love of cosplay and Genshin Impact, Genshin Mania PH really grew in its network and reach, and we’ve been working on other projects as well, like our Café Teyvat, to have fun with fellow fans.
We really wanted to make our cosplay group for Cosplay Carnival very special since we are celebrating our con anniversary. This year’s CosCarni was definitely hard for us given the extremely strict restrictions. Truthfully, we were disappointed and stressed out that day, but we’re still very thankful to everyone in our group, to our photographers, and to our videographer for working hard and delivering top performance.”
As they said, conventions are a great place to meet new people and to be open to new hobby-related experiences. The community can be very fun and inspiring, and it’s nice to know that you have each other’s back when needed. The last page of our coverage highlights this.
