The Ancient Magus' Bride OAD Gets New Key Visual, Part 2 Now Out in Japan

The Ancient Magus’ Bride: The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm OAD revealed a new key visual, just in time for the release of part 2 on March 10. The second part came bundled with the special edition of the 17th volume of The Ancient Magus’s Bride manga in Japan. The third, and final episode, is set to release with the 18th volume of the manga on September 9, 2022.

The Ancient Magus Bride: The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm – OAD New Visual

The first episode in the original series set after the events of the first season premiered in September of last year, with Crunchyroll also streaming it.

Studio Kafka is animating The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm, and the OAD (original animation disc) is their first major work. Kazuaki Terasawa, who worked on Overlord II as an episode director, is directing the trilogy. Hirotaka Katou is doing character designs. Katou also worked on season 1 of the anime, as an animation director. Aya Takaha and Yoko Yonaiyama wrote the script for the OVA, while Junichi Matsumoto composed the music.

Season 1 of Ancient Magus’ Bride aired in 2017 and had 24 episodes. Previously, The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Those Awaiting a Star OVA, which served as an introduction to the series, aired from 2016 to 2017 and had 3 episodes. WIT Studio animated both. The story is based on a manga by Kore Yamazaki.

Gabriel is an ordinary boy who just moved from London and was bored with his surrounding, until one day, he saw a wisp of purple smoke from the window of his house. At that time, he hurriedly chased the smoke, looking for any kind of freedom and fun. Though they should not, the world of boys and wizards soon intersect… Meanwhile, in the middle of an uncommon regular day, where Elias is helping Chise prepare to head to the college, Spriggan arrives at the mansion on a seemingly creepy horse with a grim message, “the appearance of the ghost hunting corps. this time is very odd”.
