The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 released a teaser for the 2nd cour, which is scheduled to premiere on October 5, 2023, at 22:00 JST. The announcement was made after episode 12 finished its broadcast in Japan. Studio Kafka is animating the series.
The 2nd cour of the anime begins with the manga’s 15th volume. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the plot as follows:
LOCKDOWN! As the College continues its desperate search for The Testament of Carnamagos, the danger has grown so dire that the Vice-Chancellor has decided to put the College in lockdown until Christmas. Through their shared plight, Chise and her classmates come to know more about each other. Thanks to their experiences in the Abandoned Hall, they all begin to change, whether they like it or not. Some grow closer, while others begin drifting apart.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride anime is based on a manga by Kore Yamazaki. WIT Studio animated the series’ first season in 2017 with 24 episodes. The season was preceded by a three-episode OVA series titled The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Those Awaiting a Star. In 2021, Studio Kafka animated the OAD series titled The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm. The first cour of the second season had 12 episodes. It is currently available to watch on Crunchyroll and Bilibili in select regions.
