The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) anime series announced that it will resume airing with the 2nd cour on January 6, 2024. The announcement came after the airing of the 12th episode of the series. On January 6, episode 13 titled “Serving in the Outer Court” will air, making the episode the start of the second cour of the series.
Alongside the announcements of the 2nd cour, The Apothecary Dairies will release a new trailer ahead of the set date. The trailer will be released on Monday, December 25 at 6pm (JST). Fans can look forward to watching the latest trailer on TOHO Animation’s official YouTube Channel.
The Apothecary Diaries has also announced the release of the insert song “Yukichu Hana (Snow Flowers)” that was first aired in episode 12. The lyrics for “Yukichu Hana” were written by Mashiro Uchida and composed by Akira Kamimae. They released the short video of the scene from episode 12 where the insert song can be heard. Fans can listen to the new insert song on streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music.
The Apothecary Diaries anime series is inspired by the light novel of the same name, which is written by Natsu Hyuga, illustrated by Toko Shino, and serialized by Shunfunotomo. The light novel series has also inspired a manga adaptation written by Itsuki Nanao and illustrated by Shunfunotomo. It is published by Square Enix and serialized in Monthly GanGan. The anime series is directed by Norihiro Naganuma, with TOHO Animation Studio x OLM animating the series.
The Apothecary Diaries light novel series has also inspired a short mini-anime series called Maomao’s Diaries (Maomao no Hitorigoto). Maomao’s Diaries stars the main character Maomao, as she explains the important items shown during the week’s current episode. There are currently 12 short episodes and it is streaming on TOHO Animation’s official YouTube channel.
The Apothecary Diaries light novel series is licensed and published digitally by J-Novel Club. The manga adaptation is licensed and published by Square Enix. Square Enix will also physically publish the light novel series in English starting in May 2024.
The Apothecary Diaries anime series is streaming on Crunchyroll in both English subtitles and dubbed. The streaming site described the series as:
