The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses anime is getting a season 2, which is set to air in 2024. The announcement comes after the recent finale, (twelfth episode) of the first season of the series. A promotional trailer was also released to commemorate the second season announcement:
The first season of The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses anime premiered on April 8 this year and was animated by Tezuka Productions. Satoshi Kuwabara served as the director, and Keiichiro Ochi wrote the scripts. Meanwhile, Masatsune Noguchi did the character designs, while Shu Kanematsu and Miki Sakurai composed the music. The main cast for the anime includes:
- Shiragiku Ono (Azumi Waki)
- Riho Tsukishima (Aya Yamane)
- Ami Tsuruga (Sayumi Suzushiro)
- Akane Hououji (Asami Seto)
- Ouka Makuzawa (Ruriko Aoki)
- Sachiko Kusakabe (Kazue Ikura)
The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses anime is based on the manga by Koji Seo which began its serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine on February 17, 2021. The ongoing manga currently has 13 volumes published with the next one set to release on February 16, 2024. Kodansha USA picked up the English license for the series in 2022 and has since released the first ten volumes.
Kodansha USA describes the plot as:
When Hayato’s grandmother passed, he planned to sell her rundown café on the shore—not realizing that it was also home to five young women who call themselves her family?! Their desperation to keep the café open convinces Hayato to give it a shot…but even their best intentions might not be enough to make it work! And can he even work with these five unruly women? No matter what, he’s got his work cut out for him! A fun new romcom by the author of Fuuka and Suzuka!
