The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei: He Just Solves All the Mysteries TV anime revealed 3 additional cast members, along with new character designs. The manga by Aki Shimizu is based on the novels created by Natsuhiko Kyogoku, while the anime was announced in October and will premiere in April. The new voice includes:
- Shinnosuke Tachibana as Reijiro Enokizu
- Shuya Nishiji as Takumi Sekiguchi
- Takanori Hoshino as Shutaro Kiba

Reijiro Enokizu: A handsome young man with a signature eyepatch over his left eye and a complicated bond with Chuzenji dating back to their student days,
Shinnosuke Tachibana’s comment: “When I knew the audition results that I would get to play Reijiro Enokizu, I was genuinely thrilled! And… I’m really looking forward to seeing how the humor and fear of the original story will be brought to life in the anime”
Takumi Sekiguchi: A myxomycete researcher struggling with severe social anxiety.
Shuya Nishiji’s comment: “Every character in the story is full of quirks and quite a handful, but during the recording sessions, hearing the performances of the cast brought these “troublesome” characters to life in a way that made them seem so endearing and lovable. Everyone is truly charming. I’m excited to watch the broadcast.”
Shutaro Kiba: Enokizu’s childhood friend and a police officer stationed at the local precinct.
Takanori Hoshino’s comment: “I’m Takanori Hoshino, and I’ll be playing the role of Shutaro Kiba! Kiba is a dependable adult, a warm-hearted friend, and a character who I think will resonate with viewers, sharing in their surprises and reactions throughout the story. He appears quite frequently, too! Please look forward to it!”
The main voice includes: Katsuyuki Konishi as Akihiko Chuzenji and Kaori Maeda as Kanna Kusakabe. They were both featured in the first teaser trailer for the anime, which you can watch below.

The setting is Tokyo in 1948, right after the war.
Kanna Kusakabe, now a second-year high school student, meets the new language teacher, Akihiko Chuzenji.
Strange, supernatural events keep occurring around Kanna. Once again today, she opens the door to the library preparation room, seeking help from the gruff Chuzenji-sensei who waits inside.
Aki Shimizu began drawing the manga in October 2019, and it was serialized in Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine Edge. After the magazine got discontinued in October 2023, the series was transferred to Kodansha’s Comic Days website.
