Toei Animation is producing an original anime project titled Girls Band Cry. A teaser visual for the said project has been released and according to Toei, new information for Girls Band Cry will be released on May 29, along with an animated music video. No information as to what format this new project is, nor info on the staff and cast.
Toei Animation was first founded in 1948 by Kenzo Masaoka and Zenjiro Yamamoto. They are most popular for their animation work on anime titles such as Dragon Ball (1986), The Kindaichi Case Files (1997), Fist of the North Star (1984), Sailor Moon (1992), Mononoke (2007), Slam Dunk (1993), and One Piece (1999).
In more recent years, Toei has worked on titles such as Healin’ Good Pretty Cure (2020), Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure (2021), and Delicious Party Pretty Cure (2022) from the PreCure franchise; as well as Future’s Folktales (2020), Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo (2020), and the ongoing Tosochu: The Great Mission series. Just recently, Toei Animation announced that it is working on an anime adaptation of the webtoon Gosu, alongside Studio N, the animation studio subsidiary of Naver Entertainment.
