Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown (season 2) has revealed a January 7 premiere date, along with the ending theme information. The song will be performed by TUYU, and its title is “It might be painful, but I still love it.” It was previously announced that the anime will stream exclusively on Disney Plus (Disney+) worldwide, following an expansion of the partnership between Kodansha and Disney, which is set to include more licenses for anime based on manga from the Japanese publisher in the future. Tokyo Revengers Manga To Publish All Volumes in Full-Color Edition
The Tokyo Revengers anime is based on the manga by Ken Wakui. The manga was serialized in the Weekly Shonen Magazine from March 2017 to November of this year, and it officially ended on November 16. Kodansha is publishing it in English, and they describe the story:
Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his girlfriend from way back in middle school, Hinata Tachibana, has died. The only girlfriend he ever had was just killed by a villainous group known as the Tokyo Manji Gang. He lives in a crappy apartment with thin walls, and his six-years-younger boss treats him like an idiot. Plus, he’s a complete and total virgin … At the height of his rock-bottom life, he suddenly time-leaps twelve years back to his middle school days!! To save Hinata, and change the life he spent running away, hopeless part-timer Takemichi must aim for the top of Kanto’s most sinister delinquent gang!!
