Vinland Saga Season 2 revealed a preview for episode 22, titled “The King of Rebellion.” The episode will air on Monday, June 5. In the previous episode, Thorfinn agreed to withstand 100 blows in order to see Canute. The official website describes the plot as:
Thorfinn was promised that he would be allowed to reunite with Canute if he could withstand 100 blows from the king guard’s fist “Bear Slayer Drott”.
Olmar and Snake, who came to announce the surrender, find out about the situation and try to stop them, but Thorfinn stubbornly resists, leaving the surroundings speechless.

Crunchyroll and Netflix are streaming the anime, which is set to have 24 episodes in two consecutive cours. Crunchyroll describes the plot of the second season as:
A new millennium begins in the southern part of the Jutland peninsula in Denmark. After the death of his longtime enemy, Askeladd, Thorfinn lost his purpose in life. He was bought by the landowner Ketil as a “slave” and engaged in land reclamation work on his farm. Thorfinn meets a young man there, Einar, who was also a slave like him. The encounter of Einar led Thorfinn to face the sins he had committed and began to find meaning in life. On the other hand, Canute, who became the King of England, attempted to extend his territory for the establishment of “the promised land”. This is “The Story of a True Warrior (Saga)”. “The story of Atonement and Salvation (Saga)” that lies beyond the prologue.
