VIZ Media is the latest victim of crypto scammers, with their X (formerly Twitter) account getting hacked and trying to trick people into investing funds in a scam coin. As is always the case in these situations, users should absolutely refrain from buying the coin or clicking any links as the owners work on getting their access back.
It seemed like they got access back when a scheduled post went up. However, the account was renamed to “X Dashboard,” using the X profile picture and reposting announcements from the official X Engineering account.
This is a recent trend with many celebrities and large profiles getting hacked to promote similar scams. Please practice caution, especially when it comes to actions that go completely against the usual activities from anyone you follow.
