Weekly Shonen Magazine Features Blue Lock's Yoichi Isagi and Seishiro Nagi on the Cover

Weekly Shonen Magazine featured Yoichi Isagi and Seishiro Nagi from Blue Lock manga on the cover of the newest issue (#52/2022) released on Tuesday. The issue compiles the manga’s new chapter with some color pages at the beginning and a chat between voice actors of Yoichi Isagi and Reo Mikage, Kazuki Ura, and Yuma Uchida. The magazine is released every Wednesday, however, this Wednesday falls on a national holiday known as Labor Thanksgiving Day in Japan, which brought the release date forward. The manga’s anime adaptation is airing every Saturday and the seventh episode aired last week.

Muneyuki Kaneshiro has been writing the story of Blue Lock manga with art by Yusuke Nomura in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since August 2018. The manga surpassed 13 million circulating copies as of November 2022 and will release the newest, 22nd compiled volume on December 16, 2022.

Kodansha USA is publishing the manga in English and released the newest, 16th volume on November 15, 2022 as an e-book. The official website describes the series’ plot as:
After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win. The Japan Football Union is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match…and to do so, they’ve gathered 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players.
