Animation studio WIT Studio released a special video as part of the 10th-anniversary celebration of the studio’s establishment. The celebration is marked with an exhibition called “WIT STUDIO 10th Aim Higher,” which opens on May 27 in Japan.
The montage features a collection of some of WIT Studio’s acclaimed works such as Vinland Saga, Ranking of Kings, Spy x Family, Great Pretender, Seraph of the End, and After The Rain, among others. It features the song “Sakugasaku” by Uchikubigokumon-Doukoukai, for which they animated the music video in 2020.
The exhibition will last from May 27 to June 20 at the PARCO FACTORY in Tokyo and will allow fans to experience the studio’s works once again. The studio also shared images of the exhibit on Twitter.
WIT Studio was founded by Production I.G.’s producer George Wada on June 1, 2012. The current director of the studio is Tetsuya Nakatake. WIT currently employs around 130 animators, including Kyoji Asano, Satoshi Kadowaki, and Tetsuro Araki. The studio gained popularity when they animated the first three seasons of Attack on Titan from 2013 to 2019. In recent years they have worked n Ranking of Kings (2021) and more recently Spy x Family (currently airing, done in collaboration with CloverWorks).
Film-wise, the studio has released titles such as The Empire of Corpses in 2015 and recently the anime film Bubble. WIT also worked on recap movies of Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress and Attack on Titan, as well as several game titles such as BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle and Princess Connect! Re:Dive.
