Producer George Wada, best known as the president of WIT Studio, has been appointed as Production I.G president. Wada is replacing Mitsuhisa Ishikawa, who co-founded the studio and served as a director and CEO. Ishikawa, who is also the president and CEO of Production I.G’s parent company IG Port, is going to be serving as a Chairman of the Board of the studio and will focus his efforts on managing the group as a whole. The appointment will become official after the Production I.G. shareholders meeting.
George Wada (Jouji Wada) has been serving as Executive Vice President of Production I.G. since 2020. In 2012, he founded WIT Studio, which became a subsidiary of IG Port, along with Production I.G. He worked as a producer on WIT’s anime titles such as Attack on Titan, Ancient Magus’ Bride, and Great Pretender. Before starting WIT Studio, he worked at Production I.G as a producer. Notable works include Guilty Crown, Real Drive, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings, and Psycho-Pass, among others.

Production I.G was founded in 1987 by Mitsuhisa Ishikawa and Takayuki Goto (the name of the studio is based on their initials). In 2007, Production I.G holding compny merged with manga publisher Mag Garden to create IG Port. In addition to WIT and Production I.G, studios IGzwei and Signal.MD are also operating under IG Port.
