Have you ever woken up and thought, “I need more anime-themed LEGO sets”? If you answered yes, you’re not alone; LEGO Ideas member Aggravator thought the same. But unlike most people who want something and hope their desired outcome arrives without much effort, Aggravator put his plan into action. And because of that, we now have the possibility of getting a Spice & Wolf LEGO set!
A Spice & Wolf LEGO set?
If approved, the Spice & Wolf LEGO set would have 2812 pieces. The proposed design includes a guesthouse, a stable, a yard, and even a detailed wagon filled with apples and Lawrence’s gear. The set’s characters would be Holo, Lawrence, Nora, Enek, and two sheep (for pastoral charm).
But how does a commoner convince LEGO to produce anything? They do so by using the most OP skill in anime, THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP!
Anyone can submit an idea to LEGO Ideas (formerly LEGO Cuusoo), but getting it approved depends on the community effort. Each submission must include a mock-up or an illustrated version of the proposed LEGO set, along with a description of the piece and its inspiration. Once you submit your idea to the website, the campaign has timed goals. You need to gather at least 100 supporters within 60 days to clear the first campaign goal. After that, you have a year to reach 1,000 supporters, another year to hit 5,000 supporters (in 6 months), and a total of 10,000 supporters by the end of the second year. Since LEGO Ideas started, they’ve produced 72 different sets.
Of the proposed Spice & Wolf LEGO set, Aggravator stated that “I was inspired by the way the series (Spice & Wolf) blends realistic medieval life—markets, inns, stables, and merchant roads—with just a touch of folklore and magic. The quiet moments, like sharing a meal in a small guesthouse or preparing a wagon for the next town, spoke to me as much as the larger story arcs. I wanted to recreate that feeling in LEGO form: the sense that these characters could set off at any moment, their path stretching far beyond the edge of the build.”
But Can It Happen?
Reaching the 10,000 supporters threshold is straightforward if the right person promotes the project. After that hurdle is cleared, the LEGO review process starts. And that’s when the real royalties and intellectual property issues arise. However, a Spice & Wolf LEGO Set would give Kadokawa a chance to introduce Spice & Wolf to a new demographic.

Spice & Wolf Details
When traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence passed by the village of Pasloe, he expected a few friendly conversations and fair trades. But, unknown to him, he left Pasloe with something far more valuable—a demigod. While initially hesitant to travel with her, as he’d believe he’d be labeled a heretic, when Holo offers Lawrence a deal he can’t pass up, he agrees to make her his traveling companion as he escorts her to her homeland.
Isuna Haekura wrote the Spice & Wolf novels. ASCII Media Works published the series from 2006 to 2019, releasing 22 volumes. Haekura-san launched a sequel novel, Wolf and Parchment, in 2016.
Spice & Wolf boasts a manga adaptation by Keito Koume, several video games, an internet radio show, and two separate TV anime series.
