Genshin Impact’s favorite forest ranger now has a new voice actor: Zachary Gordon is joining the cast as Tighnari in the popular game. Gordon, who is best known as Greg Heffley in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie series and who voiced Hayner in the Kingdom Hearts III game, is replacing Elliot Gindi who got fired following allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment.
Gindi, whose behavior came to light after one of his Twitch moderators shared a document outlining his actions and messages, has since issued an apology and gone quiet on social media. The English cast of Genshin Impact condemned his behavior and called for his firing. Genshin developer and publisher HoYoverse (also known as miHoYo) announced that it would be cutting ties with Gindi in February of this year.
Tighnari’s in-game voice lines will be fully replaced in the upcoming update (version 3.6). The promotional videos for the game no longer credit Gindi although his voice can be heard: he was in a number of main version trailers and events, as well as in the Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: A Winter Night’s Lazzo, which introduced Tighnari (off-screen) and Collei.
