September 3 is celebrated as the birthday of Zenitsu Agatsuma from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and the official website shared an illustration to commemorate the occasion in 2024. The illustration was created by ufotable, and it features Zenitsu and his sparrow, Chuntaro.
Koyoharu Gotoge wrote and illustrated the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from February 2016 to May 2020, getting compiled into a total of 23 volumes. The first season of the anime adaptation by ufotable aired from April to September 2019, heavily boosting the franchise’s popularity. The manga became one of the best-selling series of all time, getting multiple stage plays and video games.
As for the anime, the first season was followed by a sequel film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Train, which released in 2020 and became the highest-grossing anime film of all time. The movie was re-edited into 8 TV anime episodes and released as an 18-episode second season together with the Entertainment District Arc. Season 3 covered the Swordsmith Village Arc in Spring 2023, while Season 4 covered the Hashira Training Arc in Spring 2024.
An Infinity Castle Arc movie trilogy is now in production.
