Hats up, One Piece fans! Japanese Actor Mackenyu Arata who played Roronoa Zoro in the One Piece Live Action is set to headline the ManiPopCon 2023 (Manila Pop Culture Convention) in the Philippines this November!
Through a video teaser shared by ManiPopCon on their official Facebook page, Mackenyu himself announced that he will be attending the Manila Pop Culture Convention 2023 which will take place from November 17 to 19 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay. The convention will include everything pop culture – cosplays, fun activities, meet-and-greet sessions with various special guests, and more.
Further information about this year’s ManiPopCon is yet to be released, so keep an eye out, Filipino fans!
The first season of the One Piece live-action made its debut on August 31, and it topped Netflix’s global English TV Ranking with 18.5 million total views, 140.1 million hours viewed and an average runtime of 7:34 hours. It kept its top spot in the 2nd and 3rd weeks as well, marking a huge success for the adaptation. Season 2 was also quickly announced.
The ONE PIECE manga is written and drawn by Eiichiro Oda. It currently has 1093 chapters, while the anime adaptation is at 1075 episodes. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English, and Crunchyroll streams the anime. They describe the story:
