A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring light novel is getting an anime adaptation, set to release in 2024. The announcement was made at the Chitose Aquarium in Chitose City, Hokkaido, Japan on Thursday. A teaser visual was also unveiled and an official website and X (formerly Twitter) account was launched for the anime.
Additionally, it was revealed that voice actresses Aina Suzuki and Miho Hanai will play the roles of Allen and Elena, respectively. The two voice actors are real-life sisters from Chitose City. EMT Squared is animating the series with Atsushi Nigorikawa as director. Other details such as additional cast members and the broadcast schedule will be announced soon.
A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring anime is based on the light novel written by Shizuru Minazki. AlphaPolis published the first volume with illustrations by Yamakawa in April 2017. The light novel series has surpassed 1.1 million copies in circulation (including manga and digital editions). Tomomi Mizuna launched a manga adaptation on AlphaPolis’ website in January 2018.
The synopsis of the story is as follows:
Due to a mistake by a god, Takumi Kayano loses his life and is reincarnated. Bestowed with various skills, he finds himself transported to another world—a perilous forest infested with monsters. In that forest, Takumi discovers what appears to be twin young boys and girls, whom he names Allen and Elena, and takes them under his protection. Despite being surprised by the two effortlessly defeating monsters with their martial arts skills, Takumi eventually reaches a town and registers with the adventurer’s guild to make a living. Thus begins a laid-back adventurer’s life as Takumi watches over the growth of Allen and Elena!
