Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba revealed a new trailer for the Hashira Training arc (the fourth season of the TV anime), highlighting the upcoming Blu-ray releases. Studio ufotable is once again animating the adaptation. Blu-ray release dates are as follows:
- Volume 1 – July 3
- Volume 2 – August 7
- Volume 3 – September 4
- Volume 4 – October 2
The episode counts are still unknown, but we do know that Volume 1 will have a single episode (the extended premiere). Considering the release dates for the volumes, it seems like the anime will run for a single cour. The illustration for the first Volume, drawn by Akira Matsushima who is a character designer for the anime series, is now out:
The fourth season, which premiered on May 12, had a special theatrical screening earlier this year, under the To the Hashira Training title. The cut included the finale of the Swordsmith Village arc and the first episode of the new season. The screening was accompanied by a world tour, attended by the main cast. Videos from the tour will be part of the bonus content included on the Hashira Training Blu-rays.
Demon Slayer is based on a manga by Koyoharu Gotoge. It ran from 2016 to 2020 in the Weekly Shonen Jump and ended after 205 chapters, compiled into 23 volumes. It received an anime adaptation by studio ufotable in 2019.
The first season had 26 episodes and was followed by Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train movie in 2020. The movie was an enormous success, both in Japan and overseas. Season 2 of Demon Slayer started in October of 2021 with a TV version of the Mugen Train arc. The movie was adapted into 7 episodes and it included a special first episode that wasn’t part of the movie. The second part of the second season was the Entertainment District Arc, which introduced a new Hashira – Tengen Uzui. The third season covered the Swordsmith Village arc
